It took me a long time to learn that it is not about working hard, getting it perfect or being at the right place at the right time to be successful in business and even in life!  In her book, Jen Sincero, says the biggest secret to getting rich isn’t so much about brilliant plans or hard work or good connections or amazing timing as it is about thoughts and emotions – Our thoughts and emotions catalyze not only our actions, they also supply all the ingredients for the Cocktail of Creation.

The 8 ingredients she is proposing are:

Belief: Having confidence is key in any business venture.  This is not always easy, however taking the time right now to pause and make a list of all the things you have accomplished both in your business and in your life will bring new inspiration, new feelings and change your overall vibration. Go ahead, give it a shot right now. With this in hand, even more belief and confidence is sure to follow and you will begin working towards your goals in a more positive fulfilling fashion.  Another way I keep the belief alive and well for myself, is by being as organized and consistent as I can with my day to day business activities. When you are working towards something, you will notice a shift in all that you do.

I have been struggling with this one for years and I know a lot of other entrepreneurs have had the same feeling and struggles when it comes to serving a specific type of business verses targeting various types of businesses.

Whenever I thought about targeting a specific niche, I always felt; “But what about all the other businesses who need help with Marketing?” and “Why can I not help them too?”. It did not feel right to me, even if I saw the opportunities it could bring, it just did not feel right to put all my eggs in one basket.

The fact is, the more real and authentic that you are in your marketing, your niche will come to you. It will present itself because it resonates with the way you are communicating, what you say, your style and the topics you choose to bring forth. So if you are like I was and are worrying about this, don’t, because the good news is that you do not have to work with only one specific niche. For instance, during the last 16 years, I have worked with Associations, Builders, restaurants, coaches, teachers, speakers, daycare providers and hair salons, just to name a few. You name it I have probably been there, bought the shirt and sold it. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT, especially the diversity of learning new things about different industries. Plus, when it comes to my industry, marketing is much the same for all. It is only in the communication aspect where things change some, but the process, the systems and strategies are quite similar.
